Delta is a brand new program at Re:Hope Southside, focused on diving deeper into our faith, and exploring some of the difficult or theologically challenging areas of Christianity. In physics, the Greek symbol delta traditionally represents the change over time, and that’s what we want to be doing as Christians.
At Re:Hope we want to develop disciples, and be constantly learning to grow deeper and more mature in our faith over time. Delta Night events will happen every month or so, each featuring a different speaker exploring a topic they’re passionate about. It will involve a teaching time, followed by an optional meet-up on Zoom for people to ask questions and discuss what we talked about.
Our first Delta Night will focus on the Trinity. We describe God as being “Three in One”, but what does that actually mean? What is the relationship between the Father, Son, and Spirit; both among themselves and with us? Is Trinitarianism a boring theological concept, or does it actually impact our lives? At this Delta Night, we’ll discuss why God’s triune nature is what makes Him God, what each person of the Godhead does and doesn’t do, how each person of the Trinity plays a critical role in our salvation, and how understanding Trinitarianism will bring deeper joy and relationship to our lives.
Join us on Sunday 11th April at 8pm on Church Online.
