Welcome to Re:Hope Southside!
We're so glad you're here. Whether you're planning a visit or looking for a church to call your own, you are so welcome to join us this Sunday!
9am ○ Pre-Service Prayer
As a church we passionately believe in prayer. Each Sunday we meet before the main service at 9am to worship, listen, and call out to God for one another, our City and our Nation. Kids are welcome too!
Prayer finishes around 9.30am when everyone is invited to mingle and enjoy some tea, coffee and pastries.
10am ○ Main Gathering
Our main service starts at 10am with notices and an opportunity for people to share what God has been doing in their lives. This is often stories of God's faithfulness and answers to prayer.
We then move into a time of celebration and sung worship led by our worship band from the front. This usually lasts 15/20 minutes and all the words are on the screen. We encourage you to engage at your own pace, so if sitting and observing is more comfortable you should feel free to do so.
Normally our time of sung worship will be followed by a relevant talk from our Lead Pastor or someone on our team. We plan our talks to be engaging, challenging, inspiring, applicable and biblical. They normally last around 30-35 minutes. At the end of the talk we conclude our service with a second worship time as we reflect on what we have heard. If you’d like to take communion or have someone pray with you, this is available during the second worship time.
Kids on Sundays
Children’s ministry is available during the service with Crèche (0-2), Crèchendo (2-4) and Wee:Hope (5-12).
Re:Hope church was planted 14 years ago in Glasgow’s vibrant West End near the University of Glasgow. There are now three Re:Hope locations, in Belfast, Glasgow's West End and Glasgow's Southside.
Re:Hope has a young vibe targeting your average twenty-something. We are passionate about prayer, worship and the Bible; helping people discover the wonder of God and what He has done for us. Our congregation covers all ages, but the majority are between 18 and 40.
Re:Hope is an extremely healthy Bible-focused and Spirit-led church filled with vision and vitality. Our health stems from consistent God-seeking eldership and staff, high quality ministry with dynamic and relevant bible teaching and worship. Our mission continues to be about reaching and raising up mature, praying Jesus followers with a particular calling to the ‘Next Generation' as we lay the foundations for a long-lasting reawakening in our lives and in our city.
We love having visitors! When you turn up, you’ll be greeted at the door by some of our welcome team. They'll be able to show you around, direct you to the bathrooms and Wee:Hope and creche rooms. Feel free to ask them any additional questions you have.
Is car parking available?
Free on-street parking is available immediately outside our building, however out of respect to our neighbours, we encourage you to consider public transport or cycling!
If you do need to find parking, the carpark at Shawlands Arcade offers up to two hours of free parking. This is just a 5 minute walk across Kilmarnock road to our church.
The closest train station is Pollokshaws East which is less than 5 minutes walk away, or Shawlands which is just over 10 minutes walk away.
Additionally there are a number of buses that travel along Kilmarnock road.
What is your age demographic?
Our congregation covers all ages (and everyone is welcome!) but the majority are between 18 and 50. We passionately believe that people are central to God’s plan and purposes and we want to help each and every person find out who they are in Christ; whatever your age or background: whether you’re exploring faith, wanting to visit, or looking for a church that you can call your own - there's a place for you.
How long does the
The service lasts between 1hr 20 mins - 1 hr 35 mins. We aim to finish the service at 11.30am each Sunday but people regularly hang around to chat following the service. Prayer ministry continues afterwards for as long as people need.
We often plan spontaneous lunches or social activities after the service - you'd be so welcome to join us!
What do people wear?
People tend to dress informally, so don’t worry about having to dress up - jeans and t-shirts are in the majority!
If you prefer to wear something more formal to church, that’s fine too.
What about Communion?
Communion is available every week at Re:Hope as part of our response worship time. We invite anyone who knows Jesus to the table. This is available during the second worship time.
Is the building accessible?
We are deeply sorry to say at present the building (built in 1912) has several steps to enter the main sanctuary. While we are making plans to make it as easy as possible for disabled access, these plans will not be in place immediately. Because this is a very important matter to us, our welcome team will be on hand to help anyone who requires assistance. Once inside, our facilities include a disabled toilet and a baby changing area.
